Fawley is truly a wonderful place to live and visit.
THE WALNUT TREE
Saving our Pub
A committee was set up to save our village pub when Brakspears sold it to a developer in 2003. It was a long journey, however, planning permission was given for a terrace of four cottages as an enabling development to finance the building of a new Walnut Tree pub in July 2017. Sadly the site owner has reneged on his promise to build the pub.

We had hoped to persuade the owner, who also owns the Hurley House Hotel, to find a reasonable solution however this now seems unlikely as he appears to feel no obligation to the promises he made to the village.

The latest news, since the pub burned down, is that the Walnut Tree pub site has been offered to a property developer, Finchatton, who are proposing to build two large houses, but no pub.

It is accepted that hospitality is struggling at this moment in time, but there is still a strong desire in the village to preserve the planning for the pub and terrace of houses.

See pdf for developers pre-app plans.

IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY.....
Fawley's unusual animals
When visiting Fawley you may see some strange sights. Escapees from Fawley Hill have been at large so drive slowly please!

SPEEDING
Please drive slowly
Fawley is small hamlet with no pedestrian footpaths by the roadside. Horses, dogs, children, bicycles and walkers share our lanes so please drive slowly and carefully. We recommend driving no faster than 20mph. Thank you.
REPORT A POTHOLE!
We are all responsible for reporting potholes.
